Before March 31, 2019, Link PAN-Aadhaar Or Learn Who Is Excluded From The Linking Process.

As the fiscal year 2022-23 winds down on March 31, investors and taxpayers should double-check that they have connected their PAN card with their Aadhaar card. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) states that PAN cards that have not been linked to Aadhaar by March 31, 2023, would be rendered useless.

It’s a must. Do not wait, connect it now! Permanent account number (PAN) holders who are not excluded from the I-T Act’s mandate must connect their PANs to their Aadhaar by March 31, 2023. The I.T. department said in a public statement that the unlinked PAN would be disabled as of April 1, 2023.

In 2017, the Ministry of Finance published a notice outlining the four groups of people who will be excluded from the PAN-Aadhaar linking obligation.

Those living in the Indian states of Assam and Meghalaya and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir

According to the Income Tax Act of 1961, a non-resident

At least 80 years old at any point in the previous calendar year;

Not an Indian national.

Individuals who qualify and voluntarily choose to link their Aadhaar with their PAN will be charged the appropriate fee. The PAN-Aadhaar Linkage fee must be paid using the e-Pay Tax function of the e-filing Portal.
