Conditions for Availing LPG Insurance Cover

  1. The cylinder pipe, stove, and regulator should be of ISI mark.
  2. You should get regular check-ups of the cylinder and stove.
  3. The accident should be reported to the distributor and police station within 30 days of the incident.
  4. You need to have all the necessary documents, including an FIR copy, medical receipt, hospital bill, post-mortem report, and death certificate.
  5. Only the person in whose name the cylinder is registered can claim the insurance amount.
  6. The insurance amount is linked to the expiry date of the cylinder, which is indicated by a code written on the upper side of the cylinder. The code includes letters A, B, C, or D, which denote the month of expiry, and numbers 24, 25, 26, or 27, which denote the year of expiry.

How to Claim LPG Insurance Cover?

If an accident occurs, you need to follow the following steps to claim the insurance amount:

  1. Report the accident to the distributor and police station within 30 days of the incident.
  2. Submit all the necessary documents, including FIR copy, medical receipt, hospital bill, post-mortem report, and death certificate, to the distributor.
  3. The distributor will inform the oil company and the insurance company about the accident.
  4. The insurance company will investigate the accident and verify the documents.
  5. If the insurance claim is approved, the insurance amount will be credited to the account of the person in whose name the cylinder is registered.
