A self-financing social security and health insurance scheme, ESIC Registration provides medical benefit, sickness benefit, maternity benefit, and a number of other benefits to employees and their families, including reimbursement for funeral costs and the provision of free physical aids, among other things.
Each company or factory with 10 or more employees, regardless of compensation, must register with ESIC. All workers earning less than Rs.21,000 per month are subject to ESI payments. This government programme offers health insurance to workers whose monthly income are less than Rs. 21,000. The state government also pays a fraction of the total price of the health insurance.
For which groups is ESI enrollment mandatory?
To qualify for ESI, a business must have 10 or more of the following employees.
