Any prospective private security agency operators in India will need to apply for a PSARA licence. Private security firms all around the nation provide armed guards and other protection services to businesses and institutions. The Private Security Agencies Regulation Act governs the operations of such security firms.
PSA stands for “Private Security Agency,” and the PSARA Act governs this industry and its peripherals. On June 23, 2005, it was approved by the President after having been passed by both chambers of parliament. In addition, the Act became operational on March 15, 2006.
Each state must notify the government of the appointment of a governing authority not lower than the rank of joint secretary in accordance with Section 3 of PSARA. The PSARA licence is issued by the state agency that has jurisdiction over the private security agency.
